The next event in Landmark Columbus Foundation’s Progressive Preservation Talks Schools Edition series has been pushed back to a later date due to inclement weather, according to Landmark Columbus Foundation.
Progressive Preservation Talks School Edition: Southside Elementary with Glenda Winders has been postponed from Jan. 29 to its new date on March 12. The talk will still be held at the Columbus Area Visitors Center in their Gallery 506 and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Registration is free and can be found on eventbrite.com.
The talk will feature information about the historic Southside Elementary School, designed by Eliot Noyes and completed in 1969. Winders, a Columbus-based writer, will share her work researching the school and archives in a public discussion.
The event is produced in partnership with the Columbus Area Visitors Center and will begin with a reception with light refreshments from Bespoke Events + Experiences at 6:15 p.m. The talk will then begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include time for feedback from those in attendance, according to Landmark Columbus Foundation.
Winders is the author of two novels “Sainted in Error” and “The Nine Assignments,” the latter of which now being adapted for television, and is currently finishing a new novel. Her career has included writing for Columbus, Indy South and Travel Indiana magazines, being the travel editor for Creators Syndicate in Los Angeles and copywriting for Napa Valley Features. She has also taught writing at the high school and college levels.
