Greater Columbus EDC annual meeting will celebrate 50 years of economic development

The Greater Columbus Economic Development Corp. will host its 2026 Annual Meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at The Commons in downtown Columbus.

This year’s event will celebrate the EDC’s 50th anniversary, bringing together business, civic and community leaders to reflect on five decades of economic development in Columbus, Edinburgh and Bartholomew County.

Rather than a traditional keynote address, the program will feature a moderated panel conversation with long-time community leaders and partners who have had meaningful roles in shaping the organization’s work over the years. The discussion will explore how the community and the EDC have evolved, the importance of relationships and collaboration and how past lessons can help inform the future.

The conversation will be led by Phil Wagner, who joined the EDC as president in January.

“The strength of the EDC has always come from collaboration,” Wagner said. “This anniversary gives us a chance to hear directly from those who helped shape the organization and to recognize the lasting impact of those relationships. It offers a meaningful chance to reflect on our history and carry those lessons forward.”

The luncheon event is open to the public, but advance ticket purchase is required by visiting www.columbusIN.org/AnnualMeeting. Individual tickets are $85 each, and reserved corporate tables of eight are available for $680, while seats remain.
