Columbus East High School senior and tenor Luke Major was the vocal winner of the Brown Music Competition, and senior sax player Devan Rhoades was the instrument winner.

Columbus’ Stephen Reen was named one of the top five piano teachers nationwide by the National Piano Foundation through the Music Teachers National Association. Reen was set to be part of a panel at the association’s national convention in Washington, D.C.

About $10,000 was raised to benefit The Commons and the Columbus extension of the Indianapolis Museum of Art during the Yankee Peddler Benefit Auction. Nearly 80 items were sold, including live plants, wooden figures, and a basketball with Bobby Knight’s signature.
