COLUMBUS, Ind. — The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in effect until 9 p.m. for central Indiana, including Bartholomew County.
Also in the watch area are Decatur, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe, Jennings, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin and Sullivan counties.
This includes the cities of Columbus, North Vernon, Seymour and Bloomington.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The National Weather Service is predicting isolated scattered thunderstorms possible Thursday morning with large hail as the primary early threat, according to Bartholomew County Emergency Management.
Bartholomew County has now been upgraded to an Enhanced Risk for severe weather later today.
Timing:
– Storms are possible between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m.
– Most likely timeframe: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Main Hazards:
– Damaging straight-line winds – 60+ mph
– Large hail – 1”+ in size
– Tornadoes possible
What You Should Do:
– Stay weather aware throughout the day.
– Have multiple ways to receive warnings (NOAA Weather Radio, phone alerts, local media).
– Secure outdoor items that could be blown around.
– Know your safe place — lowest level, interior room away from windows.
