Indiana University Columbus and Mill Race Center are bringing Great Decisions, America’s largest discussion program on world affairs, to Columbus for a series of eight discussion events over the next two months.
Every year, communities around the country convene to discuss eight international topics chosen by a panel of experts. The series will begin on March 5 and be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Mill Race Center.
“One highlight this year is our discussion of the radical shift in U.S. economic trade policy, led by our own IU Columbus Business Professor Dr. Jon Padfield,” event organizer and head of the Liberal Arts Division at IU Columbus George Towers said.
Padfield’s discussion on tariffs and trade policy, titled “Tariffs and the Future of the World Economy,” will start off the series on March 5. Other Great Decisions events in the series will be held on the following dates at Mill Race Center:
- March 12: “U.S.-China Relations” with Douglas Woodwell, Ph.D., professor of history and political science, University of Indianapolis.
- March 19: “Ukraine and the Future of European Security” with Aaron Miller, Ph.D.
- March 26: “The Future of Human Rights and International Law” with Timothy William Waters, J.D., Richard S. Melvin Professor of Law, associate director, Center for Constitutional Democracy, IU Bloomington.
