Exhibit Columbus to present ‘10 Years of the J. Irwin & Xenia S. Miller Prize’

Exhibit Columbus will present “10 Years of the J. Irwin & Xenia S. Miller Prize” exhibit beginning Friday.

The exhibit is a retroactive collection revisiting 23 different Miller Prize winning installations commissioned through Exhibit Columbus between 2016 and 2025.

“10 Years of the J. Irwin & Xenia S. Miller Prize” will be on display at New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art from Feb. 28 through April 11.

This celebratory exhibition will not be a direct recreation of the past installations, but rather focus on the interpretation, according to a press release from Exhibit Columbus. Using Hadley Fruits’ photography, this exhibit documents civic life in Columbus and how different designers responded with their installations.

To showcase the Miller Prize as a cultural legacy rather than just a temporary installation, the current staff at the Landmark Columbus Foundation are interpreting “10 Years of the Miller Prize” themselves.

The exhibition is organized into five sections corresponding to each Exhibit Columbus cycle with each section explaining that cycle’s theme, giving a description of the original prize-winning installation and the new staff reflections:

  • 2016–17 Inaugural Cycle
  • 2018–19 Good Design and the Community
  • 2020–21 New Middles
  • 2022–23 Public by Design
  • 2024–25 Yes And
