Broomball playoffs start this week

The first round and semifinals of the Columbus Broomball League playoffs will be Sunday at Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena.

No. 3 seed CCA (5-4-1) will play No. 6 seed Jennings County BC (1-9) at 4:30 p.m., followed by No. 4 seed Our Name Is Earl (4-5-1) facing No. 5 seed Hansons (4-6) at 5:30 p.m. No. 2 seed Rockpile (6-4) will meet the CCA-JCBC winner at 6:30 p.m., and No. 1 seed Monsters of Rock (9-1) will play the Earl-Hansons winner at 7:30 p.m.

Tyler Rash netted four goals Sunday to lead Monsters of Rock to a 6-0 win against CCA in the regular-season finale. Kyle Roshak and Zach Henderson had the other goals.

Rockpile beat Our Name Is Earl 5-2 behind two goals from Matt Street and one each from Garrett Nolan, Max Warr and Josiah Havenkost. Kaitlyn Nester and Tom Kareus scored for Earl.

Hansons won by forfeit against Jennings County BC.
