NORTH VERNON — The North Vernon Police Department announces the conclusion of Operation ICE Pick, a narcotics enforcement initiative that began during the last week of December and continued through early March.
Operation ICE Pick focused on identifying and disrupting individuals involved in the distribution of methamphetamine, fentanyl, THC products, and other controlled substances impacting North Vernon and surrounding communities. The operation targeted dealers, manufacturers, nuisance properties, and individuals contributing to the regional drug pipeline, police said.
Over the course of the operation, 15 individuals were charged, including one juvenile whose name is being withheld due to age.
Task Force Commander Graham Heffelfinger stated “Operation ICE Pick is a direct reflection of the work ethic and professionalism of our officers. Throughout this operation, our team sharpened their investigative skills and refined methods that allow us to safely and effectively take these offenders into custody. I am proud of the way our officers have grown through this process. We are dismantling distribution networks in and across county lines, and we will continue to pursue those who bring dangerous drugs into our communities.”
