MILAN — Just as it did in the first two games of the boys basketball sectional, Hauser left little doubt in Saturday night’s championship game.

The Jets led from start-to-finish in rolling to a 73-42 win against host Milan and capture their second straight sectional crown.

“Very proud of our team for putting together three quality performances in four days to bring home our second consecutive sectional title,” Hauser coach Trent Moorhead said. “It’s hard to win tournament basketball games, but this team and these seniors have demonstrated a championship resolve, and we’re excited to continue onto the regional next week.”

The Jets (24-2) built a 35-18 halftime lead and cruised from there.

Stryker Gill led Hauser with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Gavin Keller scored 16 points, Kam Blair added 15 points and Waylon Harper added nine points.

Gill, who went over the 1,000-point mark for his career, was named sectional MVP. Keller and Blair joined him on the All-Sectional team.

“Stryker Gill was phenomenal in all three games with his command of the floor and how well he attacked the basket,” Moorhead said. “Gavin Keller and Kameron Blair were outstanding on both ends for us all week. Bill Miller and Joel Bechtel each stepped up in big-time moments when we needed them, and Waylon Harper and Braydon McFarland were huge for us off the bench, along with Tyler Deiwert all contributing quality minutes.”

The Jets advance to play South Decatur (18-6), a 53-42 winner over Tri in the Tri Sectional final, at 1 p.m. March 14 at Seymour.
