KOKOMO — IU Columbus dropped a River States Conference baseball doubleheader to Shawnee State Sunday in Kokomo, falling 9-5 and 10-5.
Wyatt Sutton went 3 for 5 in the opener. Gavin Haltom took the loss in relief of Riley Mertl and Weston Hanks.
Gavin Lash went 2 for 2, and Trey VanMeter went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run in the second game. Brayden Furnish, the second of six Crimson Pride pitchers, took the loss.
IUC (3-16, 0-6) and Shawnee State will be in Columbus Monday for a single game at 1 p.m. at Ceraland. The Crimson Pride will host Rochester Christian for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
