Crimson Pride fall in 10 innings

Garrett Thurman hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth, but Shawnee State tied it with two runs in the top of the ninth and won with two in the top of the 10th for an 8-6 River States Conference victory Monday at Ceraland.

Gavin Lash went 2 for 4 with a double, and Thurman and Wyatt Sutton each went 2 for 5 for the Crimson Pride (3-17, 0-6). Brendan Bailey, the last of four IUC pitchers, took the loss.

The Crimson Pride are back at Ceraland for a doubleheader against Rochester Christian beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
