Newborn Safety Class — 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Bartholomew County Health Department, 2625 Foxpointe Drive, Columbus. The Bartholomew County Health Department (BCHD) invites all expecting parents, new parents, and caregivers to a comprehensive Newborn Safety Class, designed to equip families with essential knowledge and practical skills in newborn care and safety. Library Babies — 10 to 10:30 a.m., 10:35 to 11 a.m. and 11:05 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. This relaxed program is a baby-friendly introduction to storytime. Register on the library website.

C-119 “Flying Boxcar” — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum, 4742 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus. The C-119 “Flying Boxcar” will be open to visitors for no charge.

Homeschool Hangout — 11 a.m. to noon, Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Come hang out at the library, make some friends and learn something new. This month, learn about remarkable women and play a game. Register on the library website.

Recreation Day — 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Circle K Fieldhouse, 2252 25th St., Columbus. Sports and recreation equipment will be set up and available to enjoy for free. Areas will be available for group games as well as self-directed recreation activities. Ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Free admission.

Mill Race Center 70th Anniversary Program — 3 to 4:30 p.m., Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. Retired Mill Race Center director Bob Pittman will lead a program about the center’s history in celebration of its 70th anniversary.

Tween Game Time — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Stop by after school and join library staff for some laid-back fun as you play your way through the library’s collection of board, card, and dice games. Game selection may vary.

Teen Game Day — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Learn to play new games and enjoy older ones in this afterschool games club. Play an assortment of board games and card games, and enjoy games on the new gaming PCs and arcade machine. Register on the library website.

“101 Dalmatians KIDS” — 5:30 p.m., The Commons, 300 Washington St., Columbus. St. Peter’s Lutheran School sixth graders will perform “101 Dalmatians KIDS.” Free admission.

Ignite Columbus: One Small Thing — 5:30 p.m., Helen Haddad Hall, 315 Franklin St., Columbus. Ignite is an idea-sharing competition held in over 100 cities worldwide. These events are a venue for innovative thinkers to share their personal and professional passions, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of just 5 minutes. Progressive Preservation Talks Schools Edition: Southside Elementary — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Columbus Visitors Center, 506 Fifth St., Columbus. This Progressive Preservation Talk with Glenda Winders will feature information about the historic Southside Elementary School, which was designed by Eliot Noyes and completed in 1969. Great Decisions Discussion — 6:30 to 8 p.m., Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. Every year, communities around the country convene to discuss eight international topics chosen by a panel of experts. Locally, IU Columbus and Mill Race Center will present the forum. The discussion will be about “U.S.-China Relations” with Douglas Woodwell, Ph.D., Professor of History and Political Science, University of Indianapolis.
