IU Columbus split a River States Conference softball doubleheader with Brescia Saturday, falling 9-4 and winning 17-6 in five innings.
Linnea Baldner went 2 for 4 in the opener. Destiny Forler went the distance in taking the loss.
The Crimson Pride (6-8, 3-5) pounded out 16 hits in the second game. Baldner went 3 for 3, Forler and Justice Cash each went 2 for 3, Carli Hosler went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs, Lily Culp went 2 for 4 with a double and Mallory Shelton had a home run and three RBIs. Chloe Linn, the second of three IUC pitchers, picked up the win.
The Crimson Pride will host doubleheaders with Midway Friday and Kentucky Christian Saturday.
