Legal Advertisement NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES Property owners, ratepayers, and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the sewage works of the Town of Hartsville, Indiana (“Town”), are hereby notified that an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1, 2023 establishing sewage works rates and charges for the services to be rendered by the utility was introduced at a meeting of the Town Council held on March 2, 2026 (“Ordinance”). At the meeting of the Town Council to be held at 6:00 p.m. (local time) on April 6, 2026, in the Hartsville Baptist Church, 475 S. Jackson Street, Hartsville, Indiana, there will be a public hearing on the matter of the rates and charges, and consideration of adoption of the Ordinance, which provides in part as follows: A storm water user fee is hereby imposed on each lot or parcel of real property within the Town, including tax-exempt and non-profit properties, for services provided by the Storm Water Utility. This fee is deemed reasonable and necessary to fund the repair, replacement, operation, and maintenance of the Town’s storm water system. For purposes of assessing the Storm Water Utility user fee, all properties within the Town shall be classified as one of the following with the associated rates: (a) Residential Property: Any lot or parcel containing up to four (4) dwelling units. Residential Property shall be charged a monthly flat fee of $5.00. (b) Non-Residential Property: Any lot or parcel not classified as residential, including commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural, governmental, and multi-family (exceeding four units) properties. Non-Residential Property shall be charged a monthly flat fee of $5.00. (c) Undeveloped Property: Any lot or parcel with no buildings or impervious surfaces other than public rights-of-way or utility connections. An undeveloped lot or parcel shall be charged a monthly flat fee of $5.00. At such hearing and prior to final adoption of the Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard.
