JACKSON COUNTY — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said Jackson County officials are actively addressing a recent cybersecurity incident that affected portions of the county’s computer network. Upon identifying the issue, county leadership immediately began coordinating with state and federal partners to ensure systems remain secure and operational.
Jackson County Commissioner Drew Storey and representatives from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office have been working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), and other state agencies to evaluate the incident and confirm system integrity.
At this time, there is no indication that any hardware, data, or taxpayer funds were lost or compromised. Officials continue working with cybersecurity professionals to ensure network stability and maintain normal operations.
County services continue to operate, though some processes may be temporarily adjusted while additional safeguards are implemented.
