Greensburg
Barbara E. Wright, 78, of Greensburg, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Wright was born September 3, 1937, in Martinsville, to Harry Jacob and Ada May Hartman Lewis. She married Donald Ray Wright February 16, 1980. He preceded her in death July 15, 2004.
She was employed at the former Sap’s Broasted Chicken, had been a custodian for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and was an apartment landlord.
Mrs. Wright was a member of First Christian Church in Columbus, Mill Race Center, and the V.F.W. and American Legion auxiliaries. Her hobbies included painting art and gardening.
Survivors include her children, Russell Dale Bush of Greensburg and Rosemarie Reed of Columbus; a brother, Raymond (Lois) Lewis of Campbellsville, Kentucky; five grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Bill, George and Jack Lewis; and sisters, Ruth Suter, Margaret Prather and Frances Carrier.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Justin White officiating.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
A committal service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Union Flat Rock Cemetery near Osgood.
