A high temperature of 64 degrees, which broke the 1930 record of 61 degrees, brought a quick and powerful afternoon storm with rain, hail and lightning strikes near First Street.

1991

Richards Elementary School students and PTO members turned in receipts totaling $200,000 to the Marsh Supermarket and received $1,500 to purchase computer equipment. Richards was the first school registered in the Marsh Computers for Education program to qualify for the award.

1966

Problems in installing a water heating system, construction of a new sewage treatment system by the town of Hope and a malfunction in a boiler combined to delay the opening of the new Hauser High School from Jan. 15 to 29.
