Panthers finish third, advance to regional
MADISON — Jennings County claimed the final qualifying spot to Thursday’s Providence Regional with a third-place finish in Monday’s Madison Sectional.
The host Cubs won the sectional with a 298. Scottsburg edged the Panthers 330-332 for second.
Jake Simmons led Jennings with a 78. Ian Donnell and Garrett Day each shot 81, Austin Roscoe added a 92 and Bailey Wilder had a 96.
The Panthers will join Columbus East, Columbus North and Brown County in the 18-team regional Thursday at Champions Pointe.
