Semis collide, back up I-65 traffic for hours

COLUMBUS, Ind. — An accident involving two semitrailers on Interstate 65 in southern Bartholomew County backed up traffic for hours.

At about 7:04 p.m. Tuesday, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash on southbound I-65 near the 61-mile marker — near Jonesville, according to a Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department news release.

The investigation indicated that a semitrailer driven by Austin Pounds, 26, of Odessa, Texas, struck the rear of the semitrailer driven by Lee Moore, 51, of College Park, Georgia. Neither driver was injured in the crash, the news release stated.
