Bartholomew County Democrats moving offices

The Bartholomew County Democratic Party is moving to new headquarters.

Nancy Ann Brown, chairwoman of the county Democrats, said on Monday that the party is in the middle of relocating out of its former headquarters on South Mapleton Street into a building at 1417 Chestnut St.

The move is meant to increase the party’s visibility in the community, Brown said.  The new headquarters is currently being used for meetings, but Brown said she hoped the facility’s office space would be up and running by next week.

Once the building is equipped with internet, phone services and a sign, the party chair said a part-time employee will be hired to staff the headquarters. The Democrats will have a 12-month lease on the Chestnut Street building, she said.

The county Democrats are currently in the process of planning an open house to invite the public to the new headquarters.
