Two more residents have filed their candidacy to run for a seat on the two Bartholomew County public school boards.
In Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp., Tim Woods added his name to the ballot for the District 5 BCSC school board seat currently held by Pat Bryant. Woods is the first candidate to file for the District 5 spot.
Across the county in Hope, Steve Wilson has declared his candidacy to run for re-election to the Hawcreek seat that he currently holds on the Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Board.
Three other residents had previously added their names to this fall’s BCSC school board ballot.
Polly Verbanic, the District 3 incumbent, is running for re-election and is being challenged by James Persinger.
District 7 incumbent Jeff Caldwell also has filed for re-election but currently has no challengers.
No candidates have filed for the remaining school board position up for election this fall — the Flat Rock seat on the Flat Rock-Hawcreek board currently held by Brian Rose.
Candidates have until noon Friday to secure a spot for their names on the November 2016 school board ballot.
