Olympians take third

NEW ALBANY — Columbus East didn’t win any races Wednesday night but placed in the top three in seven of the 10 events to take third place in the New Albany Relays.

The Olympians finished with 58 points. Jeffersonville edged Floyd Central 75-73 for the title.

Julie Connor and Becca Bryan combined to finish second in the diving with a combined total of 156.00 for three dives each. Cortney VanLiew, Whitley Eicher, Jennifer Utterback and Lizzy Frazier took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1 minute, 47.42 seconds.

South Decatur falls

VERSAILLES — South Ripley limited South Decatur to four field goals in a 62-15 victory.

Annie Gant led the Cougars (1-3) with five points. Mackenzie Kopplin grabbed five rebounds.

Brownstown tops Trinity

BROWNSTOWN — Brownstown Central pulled away over the middle two quarters to claim a 55-42 win against Trinity Lutheran.

Piper Acton led the Cougars (0-3) with 10 points. Jodi Goecker added eight.
