The Columbus Lions Club is encouraging local families to display their American flag Thursday.
The gesture is a way for people to remember to be thankful for their freedoms, said Jerry Simo, Columbus Lions Club president.
On Monday, the Bartholomew County Commissioners issued a proclamation supporting the Lions Club’s request, and urging businesses and homes to “show pride” and “give thanks for all your blessings” by flying their American flag on Thanksgiving.
