Entrance to Columbus gets a new sign on Friday: Here’s why

Columbus firefighters began measuring Thursday morning for placement of signs announcing Columbus as the hometown of soon-to-be inaugurated Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

The signs were temporarily placed on the sign poles, but were then removed and will be put back up at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, just before Pence is sworn in as vice president in Washington D.C.

The signs will be placed on welcome signs on U.S. 31 at Lowell Road and on the westside along Jonathan Moore Pike.
