EDINBURGH — Railroad crossings through Edinburgh will close periodically beginning Wednesday and should reopen to traffic on Thursday morning.
Rails at the crossing are being replaced with high-speed rail by Louisville & Indiana and CSX railroads. Each crossing will be closed twice, once for each side of the rail. The crossings will be closed for a few hours at a time and will not be closed overnight.
Crossings on the following roads will be affected:
- County Road 900N
- County Line Road
- Perry Street
- Thompson Street
- Main Cross Street
- Naomi Street
- County Road 700E
- County Road 650S
- County Road 775E
A detour has been set up and motorists are asked to use Center Cross Street (State Road 252) since it will remain open throughout the rail-replacement process.
The schedule is subject to change without notice due to weather or other factors, Edinburgh officials said.
