Howard A. Camden, 80, of Wallace Avenue, died at 5:25 a.m. September 18, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Howard was born July 1, 1937, in Mackville, Washington County, Kentucky, the son of Lem and Delthea Atkins Camden.

He was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church in Franklin, where he loved attending.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor John M. Stephenson officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Howard Camden Memorial Fund, Apostolic Gospel Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Survivors include his daughter, Tijuana (Mark) Newton, of Columbus; stepson, Danny (Lisa) Ogle of Scottsburg; brother, Charles Camden of Greenwood; a sister, Dorothy Grimes of Columbus; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a companion, Phyllis Ogle; and his brother, James Camden.
