The Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund will have a cookout today at Kroger Marketplace to help raise funds to provide gifts for underprivileged children during the holiday season.
The cookout will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the store at 3060 N. National Road. Anyone stopping by also is invited to drop off a new or gently used toy as part of the event.
The Columbus Fire Department will have a fire truck at the event, pending any calls. Firefighters will meet with local residents as they staff the cookout with Kroger employees and Cheer Fund volunteers.
Pulled pork sandwiches for $4, cheeseburgers for $3 and hotdogs for $2 will be available for purchase. For $1 more, you can add chips and a drink for a meal. All proceeds from the event go toward the Cheer Fund’s efforts to help kids this holiday season.
