Plane lands in Johnson County field

A small plane having a mechanical issue landed in a farm field south east of Franklin on Friday morning.

No one was injured, and it was not immediately clear what problem the aircraft was experiencing.

The plane resumed its flight a short time later. The Federal Aviation Administration had been consulted, Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said.

The emergency landing happened in a field just north of County Roads 800 East and 400 South, Cox said. The area is near Interstate 65 and east of Amity.

Emergency officials were first alerted to a small aircraft possibly in distress about 10 a.m. Friday. The plane had resumed its flight by 11 a.m.
