Columbus residents will be able to dispose their yard waste and brush during special cleanup days starting this month.
Yard waste toters and stacked brush will be collected by the city on the day that trash is picked up under the chipper and yard waste program, which begins Monday and continues through April 13. Toters, brush and small piles should be stacked next to the curb by 7 a.m.
An armful of sticks and twigs can go into brown trash toters each week with no limbs or wooden materials allowed in yard waste toters, according to the city. Residents also can rake loose leaves, grass and pine needles to the curb for collection the day of their regular trash day.
Leaf vacs will be collecting loose debris during this cleanup period. Individuals who have large piles of brush are asked to call the Columbus Department of Works at 812-376-2509.
