COLUMBUS
On April 10, 2018, Douglas W. Wolfe passed away quietly in his sleep. He was 63.
Mr. Wolfe was born on July 3, 1954 in Jamestown, Ohio to parents Wayne and Janet Wolfe. He moved to Columbus Indiana when he was 8, enjoying the great outdoors with his siblings and friends. He graduated from Columbus High School, and eventually made his way to the desert of Tucson, Arizona. It was there where he fell in love with the mountains, the desert, the sun, and the food. Food was always a passion for Doug, rising to Head Chef at the Hilton Hotel and on to Executive Chef at the Fort Huachuca Officers Club in Sierra Vista. He shared his love of food with his family and friends, who always knew they would eat well when he was around. All who knew Doug were affected by his vibrant and charismatic personality. He was always there with a joke, a story, and a good laugh. He loved being outdoors and fishing, all things Arizona basketball, and sharing all of this and more with his two sons.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by his mother, Janet; sons, Michael of Lafayette, IN and Skylar (wife Emily) of Scotch Plains, NJ; grandson, Griffin; brothers, Lee, Scott, and Mark; and sister, Linda. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A memorial will take place on April 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street in Columbus Indiana. A visitation with the family will begin at 1pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Wolfe’s life.
