WESTPORT
Elizabeth “Dee Dee” Young, 56, of Westport, passed form this life at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Dee Dee attended The Ridge and found peace and joy in her faith during her battle with pancreatic cancer.
She loved to laugh, dance, be with family, listen to her family play music, create stain glass pieces with her husband, and she loved painting and drawing with her dear friend, Donni Buchanan.
Dee Dee was born September 22, 1961 in Louisville. She was the daughter of Donald and Mary Roseanna Swango Purtlebaugh.
She married Wyatt Young on September 25, 1976 in St. Louis, Missouri.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Josh Crum officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service Wednesday.
Burial will be at Westport Cemetery in Westport, Indiana.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years; sons, James (Melani) Young of Columbus and Josh Young of Westport; grandchildren, Bryce, Grant, Collin, Gabby and Makenna Young; brothers, Randy Purtlebaugh of Seymour, J.R. (Tasha) Purtlebaugh of Columbus and Allen (Tina) Purtlebaugh of Columbus; sisters, Donna (Bill) Robbins of Columbus and Darlene (Terry) Garrity.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, James Edward Purtlebaugh.
