March for Babies Sunday at IUPUC

The March of Dimes March for Babies will be at 1 p.m. Sunday on the west lawn of the IUPUC campus in Columbus, 4555 Central Ave.

The 3.2-mile event includes a one-mile traditional walk around campus, allowing participants to enjoy music from local band Black-Tie Optional, DJ Rich Anthony, a bounce house for kids, face painting and food.

Gold sponsors for the event include Elwood Staffing, Columbus Regional Heath and the Pourhouse Cafe in Bloomington. Silver sponsors are Dorel Juvenile and Enkei.

The March for Babies raises money to help moms have full-term pregnancies and to give hope to families of babies born too soon, who are more likely to have disabilities or die.

The organization also helps fund newborn screening and preventative health care for healthy full-term babies.

As of Tuesday morning, the fundraiser has reached $26,300 toward a goal of $60,000.

Registration is still open for the March for Babies. Register by visiting marchforbabies.org or call 812-345-9712.
