Indianapolis man accused of battering female

Columbus police arrested an Indianapolis man after he was accused of battering a woman in Columbus.

Police were called about the incident near 22nd and California streets at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers found Randy H. Wilson, 26, Indianapolis, in a vehicle at that location. Wilson was arrested after he became argumentative with officers, Harris said. Wilson later attempted to kick out one of the rear windows of a patrol car, Harris said.

The female victim was not cooperative with officers and refused medical treatment, Harris said.

Wilson was arrested on preliminary charges of battery, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement and intimidation, Harris said. He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail on $21,000 bond, jail officials said.
