Columbus native and children’s author Kimberly Hoffman will sign copies of her latest work, “Sigmund Stanley Spider Squared,” at two upcoming promotional book events.
One will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Viewpoint Books, Sixth and 548 Washington St. The second will be her presentation, “Thinking Outside the Box Regarding Disabilities,” at 6 p.m. May 24 in the Red Room of the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St.
Her spider story is a rhyming tale of a small spider who is born with a disability. He is square, and his legs do not work in the same way other spiders’ legs do. A young ant, Grant, comes along and teaches Sigmund how to conquer his dilemma, showing him respect and friendship along the way.
Hoffman’s first children’s book was “Emma’s Dancing Day” about a spider with eight legs who, despite major struggles, learns to persevere with the dancing dreams that God has placed in her heart.
