The Indiana Department of Transportation will chip and seal State Road 58 beginning May 3, weather permitting.
The project will be from about a mile east of State Road 135 to just west of I-65. First-day road work will begin in northern Jackson County and continue into Bartholomew County. The work is expected to be completed within three days.
Chip sealing the 27 miles of State Road 58 will require closing the highway between Spraytown and Ogilville to traffic. INDOT pilot vehicles will escort school buses and local traffic for people who live in the area to have access.
