Six residents who lived in apartments in a residence at 725 Pearl St. were displaced after a fire.
Columbus firefighters were sent to the home at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday and were told an adult male was possibly trapped in an upstairs apartment, said Capt. Mike Wilson, Columbus Fire Department spokesman. When firefighters arrived, however, they learned that all occupants were out of the apartments, Wilson said.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but due to damages to the home’s electrical system, Duke Energy disconnected service to the structure, Wilson said. The Salvation Army helped provide residents with housing on Tuesday night.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and firefighters have not yet set a damage estimate, Wilson said. No injuries were reported.
