Jordan Johnston threw a four-hit shutout Wednesday to lead Columbus East to a 2-0 Hoosier Hills Conference win against Jeffersonville.
Madyson Foster and Kendra Pastrick had RBIs in the third, when the Olympians (10-10, 3-3) scored both of their runs. Foster finished with three hits.
Pirates top Bull Dogs
Columbus North pounded three home runs, but fell 18-7 to Class 3A No. 9 Greensburg.
Bailey Lofton went 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBIs for the Bull Dogs (3-15). Brooke Bruin went 2 for 3 with a double, and Sierra Norman went 2 for 4 with a homer.
Jennings falls to Floyd
FLOYDS KNOBS — Floyd Central jumped out to a 7-0 lead after four innings and went on to hand Jennings County a 9-3 loss.
Carissa Sablehaus and Karlee Madinger each went 2 for 3 for the Panthers (9-9, 3-2).
Eagles run-rule Cougars
GREENSBURG — Jac-Den-Del scored seven times in the first inning and went on to post a 20-4, five-inning win at South Decatur.
Chloee Smith went 2 for 2 with a double for the Cougars (4-10). Sierra Lang went 2 for 3, and Erynn Dyer went 1 for 1 with a triple.

North boys win
FRANKLIN — Columbus North split a dual meet at Franklin, with the Bull Dog boys winning 74-58 and the girls falling 68-64.
Damon Hunter Jr. led the Bull Dogs with wins in the 100 meters (11.3) and 200 (23.1). Other winners for North were Felix Lawson in the high jump (5 feet, 4 inches), Preston Terrell in the long jump (20-3), Logan Abbott in the discus (140-1¼). The Bull Dogs also took the 4×800 (8:26.0) and 4×100 (45.3) relays.
Winners for the North girls were Adrienne Salemme in the pole vault (10-0), Jahna Smiley in the high jump (5-0), Emily Herndon in the shot put (34-2¼), Emma Wetherald in the discus (104-1), Sami Heathcote in the 100 hurdles (17.3), Arig Tong in the 1,600 (5:37.0) and Olivia Morlok in the 3,200 (12:26.0). The Bull Dogs also captured the 4×800 relay (10:19.0).
BOYS golf
Bull Dogs take tri
SHELBYVILLE — Columbus North rested its top two golfers, but still managed a tri-match win at Bear Chase. The Bull Dogs finished with a 181 to 191 for New Palestine and 195 for host Shelbyville.
North’s Cameron Ziegler won medalist honors with a 43. Luke VanDeventer carded a 44, Jackson Kerber added a 46, Jacob Niedbalski shot 48 and Reese Moore had a 51.
Jets down Eagles
Hauser fired its best score of the season in a 177-185 win against Brown County at Clifty Creek in its final tuneup for Saturday’s Mid-Hoosier Conference Tournament.
Justin Compton won medalist honors with a 36 to lead the Jets. Sam Johnson carded a 44, Matt Sweet added a 48, Ethan Wallace shot 49 and Justice Gilliland had a 55.
Parker VanNess led the Eagles with a 37. Ben Rygiel carded a 47, Peyton Proctor added a 49, Curtis Lookebill and Brendon Asher each shot 52, Rex Watters had a 58, Emerey Brock finished with a 65 and Jake Huddleston had a 66.

Panthers edge Devils
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County pulled out a three-set win at No. 3 singles to claim a 3-2 victory against Jeffersonville in the consolation round of the HHC Tournament.
Rebecca Driver beat Emma Ellis 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Ellie Hearne downed Lydia Kittrell 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (11-5). Courtney Lykins and Abigail DeCamp topped Gabby Elder and Olivia Bischof 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Jennings’ Hailey Brown fell to Cassie Brown 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Maddy Hill and Callie Wilder lost to Alayna Lacy and Ally Ward 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.

BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington North won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win against Brown County.
Hallee Miller fell to Jay Bhattacharya 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Julia Williams lost to Katy Rusche 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Cassidy Davis fell to Maddie Potter 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Eagles (5-10).
Brown County’s Jacey Ferguson and Baelyn Koester lost to Kayley Ryan and Isabel Flynn 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Grace and Olivia Baughman fell to Jade Vasquez and Rachel Barrett 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

BEDFORD — Jennings County took a 3-1 lead into the sixth inning, but Bedford North Lawrence scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally for a 7-3 win in the consolation round of the HHC Tournament.
Owen Deaton went 3 for 4 with a triple for the Panthers (2-14).
