FLAT ROCK
Raymond Rooks, 74 of Flat Rock, passed away May 14, 2018 at Heritage House Of Shelbyville in Shelbyville.
He was born January 3, 1944 in Adair County, Kentucky. He was the son of Delmer and Flossie (Burton) Rooks.
He is survived by his sons, Leroy Black of Columbus, Billy (Christina) Black of Seymour, Dewayne Rooks of Columbus, Mike (Velma) Rooks, Mitchell (Bernice) Rooks, Mark Rooks and Mickey (Dinah) Rooks, daughters, Sharon (Richard) Hamlet and Anissia Russell, all of Columbia, Kentucky; companion, Elva Jackson of Flat Rock; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Brenda) Rooks and Gary (Leanna) Rooks, both of Edinburgh and Dewey Ray (Sue) Rooks and sister, Alice Ruth McFarland, both of Columbia, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He retired from David R. Webb in Edinburgh, where he worked in the maintenance department.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 by the Rev. Terry England at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, Columbia, Kentucky time, at Adkins Cemetery, 2295 Sulphur Creek Road, Columbia, Kentucky.
