Two arrested after traffic stop

Columbus police arrested two people on several charges after a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Hawcreek Avenue.

Officer Ivan Shultz stopped a vehicle at 1 p.m. Monday for a minor violation, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Shultz spoke with the driver, William K. Long, 51, Columbus, and determined he had a pending warrant for his arrest, Harris said.

Officers spoke with Long’s passenger, Christina S. Greathouse, 40, Columbus, and determined she had two local warrants for her arrest, Harris said.

While searching Greathouse, officers found drug paraphernalia containing methamphetamine in one of her pants pockets, Harris said. Officers also found additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia in her purse, Harris said. Officers also found a pack of cigarettes containing marijuana where Greathouse was seated in the car.

Long was arrested on the warrant, Harris said. In addition to the two warrants, Greathouse was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Harris said.
