Equipment failure at a substation caused a brief power outage in downtown Columbus.
The outage was reported at 10:18 a.m. Tuesday affecting about 550 customers, including Columbus City Hall and other downtown offices.
Power was restored to the majority of the downtown just before 11 a.m., said Chip Orben, Duke Energy spokesman. Power was rerouted around the substation and 23 customers remained without power for a couple hours while Duke completed repairs.
Columbus police were out at intersections where downtown traffic lights were out directing traffic during the outage.
