Services and studies
Flintwood Wesleyan — Amplify (nontraditional) at 9 a.m. and The Well (traditional) at 11 a.m. will both be led on Sunday by Pastor Wes Jones in the main sanctuary of the church, 5300 25th St. The Prayer Team will meet at 8 a.m. and Sunday school classes will meet at 10 a.m. in their regular rooms. Adult choir practice will be held at 5 p.m., followed by the evening Bible study at 6 p.m.
A Christian Journey with Paul meets at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday in The Friendship Center. New members are welcome. Prior classes are not necessary.
The Prayer Team will meet at 6 p.m. and the adult Bible study will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in The Friendship Center.
Vacation Bible School, starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at noon, will take place June 25-28 at the church. This year’s theme is “Game On!” Volunteers are needed and may sign up by contacting Pastor Tracey Carter.

Westside Community — Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. The children’s program up through grade 6 will meet at the same time as the service.
A new women’s seven-week Bible study — “My Heart, Christ’s Home” by Robert Boyd Munger — will begin at 7 p.m. June 13 at the church. It will be led by Nita Evans.

St. Paul Lutheran — The theme of Pastor Doug Bauman’s sermon at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services Sunday at the church, 6045 E. State St., will be “All Sins are Equal.” Scripture will include Mark 3:20-35. New members who have joined the church in the past six months will be recognized and welcomed into the congregation during the fellowship hour beginning at 9:30 a.m.

First Presbyterian — The sermon to be delivered at the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 512 Seventh St., will be titled “All in the Family” and focus on Mark 3:20-35. Infant and toddler care will be available from 9:15 to 11 a.m.
The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. every Friday. A second support group for working-age men meets at 6:15 a.m. Mondays.
People in need of a meal are invited to the Hot Meals program offered at 5 p.m. Friday, with entrance through the glass doors on Franklin.

East Columbus United Methodist — Fellowship time begins at 9 a.m. Sunday in the foyer of the church, 2439 Indiana Ave., with beverages and light snacks. Pastor Charles Aigner will bring the message and Holy Communion will be served. Young children will receive a special message before being dismissed for children’s church. A staffed nursery/toddler room will be available during the morning service. Sunday school for all ages and Bible interests will begin at 10:40 a.m. The Sunday evening chapel service will take place at 6 p.m.
The United Methodist Men will hold their monthly breakfast at 8 a.m. June 16 in the Fellowship Hall. Men of all ages are invited.
Vacation Bible school for children from kindergarten through sixth grade will be from 5:15 to 8 p.m. July 17-19, with dinner to be served at 5:15 p.m. Registration is required.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus — The next worship service, The Blessings of Age, will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 7850 W. Goeller Blvd., and Sue Lamborn, outreach and community relations manager for Thrive Alliance, will share her work in providing support and advocacy for those who can no longer care for themselves.

First United Methodist — At the 9 a.m. Traditional and 11 a.m. Celebration services Sunday at the church, 618 Eighth St., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “Seeds of Hope in the Soil of Disappointment.” Scripture will include 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1.

Grace Lutheran — The message, “Lost and Found,” based on Genesis 3:8-15, will be delivered during the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at the church, 3201 Central Ave. Sunday school for all ages will begin at 9:20 a.m. The ordination service for Alex Harris, who has received a call to serve as associate pastor at Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Royalton, Ohio, will take place at 2 p.m.

Petersville United Methodist — The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will use the theme, “Daily Prayer and Corporate Prayer,” for her sermon on Sunday. Scriptures shared by the liturgist will include 2 Samuel 24:24-25. Worship will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship. The United Methodist Men’s group will meet earlier at 7:15 a.m.
The Monday night Bible study classes and the Tuesday night Sit ‘N’ Stitch group will not meet again until after Labor Day. Prayer group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
“God’s Amazing World,” a summer Vacation Bible School blitz for children ages 3 to 12, will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the woods across from the home of Joe and Kathy Bush. Children will experience the wonder of nature, participate in a Bible story and enjoy games and music. Events
Flintwood Wesleyan — Kid’s Camp will be June 12-15 and Revolution Teen Camp will be June 18-22 at the church’s District Family Campground in Orleans. Anyone interested in attending either camp must fill out and turn in an entry form.
The next Flintwood Outdoor Market will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 7 at the church, 5300 25th St., featuring local vendors and artisans and home-baked goods. Space may be rented by contacting Kim Rutan in the church office.

First United Methodist — Families of all ages, shapes and sizes are invited to join the Family Ministry Team for a picnic lunch and playground fun at noon each Wednesday in June and July at the church playground, 618 Eighth St. If the weather does not cooperate, trikes and toys will be available for children to play with in the Fellowship Hall.
Mission Mondays, featuring family friendly mission projects for all ages and abilities, will take place at noon June 11 and 25 and July 23 in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
Ride for Alive will take place at 10 a.m. June 16. Participants may make a minimum donation of $15 to meet at the church, participate in one or two bike courses throughout Columbus and enjoy snow cones and fellowship upon their return. The church’s book club will meet at 6 p.m. June 17 in the church library to discuss “The Hidden Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben. Wohlleben worked for the forestry commission in Germany, where he studied the social aspect of trees. All are welcome.
