Orchids to …

• the creators of the State Street taco event, because I have been wanting to try State Street tacos for so long and this is the perfect chance to do it.

• those in charge of the Rocky Ford bike lanes, because I feel a lot safer now and so do my kids, who will be biking to school this fall.

• Sharon Waltz for always remembering to send cards to people on special occasions.

• the man by the airport who mowed my yard a while ago but wouldn’t take any money.

Onions to …

• the county commissioners and highway department for not mowing or half mowing some county roadways.

• the person that ran the four-way stop at 22nd Street and Midway and hit a little dog.

• foreigners who put their children in grave danger to come to our country illegally and those legally here who condone that.

• people calling and texting my wife on the first day of her vacation, knowing she’s on vacation, knowing she’ll be back soon, because it’s disrespectful.

• whoever thinks that practicing to take care of our country and ourselves is an 8-to-5 job, because they should realize that we may need them sometime during hours when it’s inconvenient.
