The chapter, which provides scholarships to students pursuing a teaching career, awarded $2,000 scholarships to Avery Todd, a recent graduate of Columbus Signature Academy — New Tech High School, and Kyla Foley, who recently graduated from Columbus North High School.

Todd plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ivy Tech Community College and IUPUC, while Foley plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies education from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Scholarships were also awarded to IUPUC students Rory Bauman and Haylee Siegel of Milan. Bauman is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in math, while Siegel is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Funds for the scholarship were provided to the chapter from the estate of Marjorie Hooten, who was an educator and administrator with the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.
