Gerald F. McCauley, 85, of Rushville, passed away on June 23, 2018 in Rushville.
He was born on January 8, 1933 in Laurel, to the late Thomas F. and Edith L. (Warner) McCauley.
Gerald married Jean (Heid) McCauley on August 20, 2016 and she survives.
Gerald received his degree in accounting.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving his country from 1950 to 1971. Gerald served in the Korea and Vietnam War.
Gerald did taxes for over 40 years in Arizona and then returned to Rushville.
He was a member of the board at the Rush County Senior Citizens Center and volunteered to help seniors to prepare taxes.
Gerald is also survived by his sons, Phillip (Peggy) McCauley of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Kyil McCauley of Rushville, daughter, Kim Roe of Rushville; sisters, Evelyn Mae Rush of Edinburgh and Joy Hall of Mays; four grandchildren, Jared McCauley, Sarah McCauley, Matthew (Jessica) Cook and Kaitlin (Sam) Pielage; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his brothers, Lowell E. McCauley and Carl McCauley, sisters, Betty Joyce McCauley and Virginia Louise McCauley; and his great-grandson, Greyson Cook.
Services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Moster Mortuary, with Pastor Gerald Holdman presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service in the mortuary. Burial will be at Rushville East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Senior Citizens Center in memory of Gerald.
