Janice K. Sell, 78, passed away June 22, 2018 at 11:53 a.m., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 30, 1940 to Lowell and Ruth Isom who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister, Joandel (Mark) Shaber of Mitchell.

She was born in Mitchell, and graduated from Mitchell High School.

She attended Indiana State University and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree from Indiana University.

She taught elementary education in Bedford, Mitchell, Corydon and Taylorsville.

In 1974, Janice married Burdell Sell who survives. She and Burdell had 44 happy years of marriage.

Janice has two children, David (Claire) Slone, of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Cheryl (Marc) Rothbart of Columbus. She has four grandsons, Isaac Pollert of Indianapolis, Noah Pollert of New Albany, Levi Pollert of Columbus and Ryan Slone of O’Fallon, Illinois, one granddaughter, Elise Slone of O’fallon, Illinois; and two great-grandchildren, Jax Pollert and Austyn Pollert.

She has two stepchildren, Laurie Randall of Murfreesboro Tennessee, and Steve Sell of Auburn, California.

Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the Chancel Choir.

Janice several years ago donated her body to the Anatomical Education Program of the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Anatomy Medical Science.

A celebration of life event will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church on

Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the First United Methodist Church music Fund, Hospice of South Central Indiana and Community Hospital South Cancer Center in Greenwood.
