Driver arrested on drug-related charges

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a local woman on drug-related charges after a traffic stop in the area of County Road 150W and Paula Drive.

Deputy Sgt. Kris Weisner made the stop at 4:22 p.m. Saturday for a vehicle that did not have working tail lights, deputies said. When making contact with the driver, identified as Megan E. Moore, 25, 9696 E. Randall St., Weisner observed indicators of drug use inside the vehicle, deputies said.

K9 Bolt alerted to narcotics inside the vehicle, deputies said.

Moore was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, deputies said.

Moore has since been released from the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said. She was released on the county’s pre-trial diversion program which allows defendants to be released without having to post bail, which had been set at $8,500.
