Woman in stable condition after near drowning

A woman was transported by LifeLine helicopter to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a near-drowning incident in a residential swimming pool.

Kimberly Vester, 46, whose address was not immediately available, was listed in stable condition at Methodist after the incident at 2:22 p.m. Saturday, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Vester was swimming in a friend’s pool in the 11000 block of County Road 150E when she went under water, deputies said. The friend called for her son, who was inside the home, and he pulled Vester from the pool, deputies said.

When deputies arrived, a firefighter was administering CPR to Vester, deputies said.

Assisting at the scene were the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the Clifford Fire Department, a Columbus Regional Health ambulance crew and the Columbus Fire Department.
