Duncan tied for 11th after opening-round 66
Tyler Duncan fired a 5-under-par 66 in Thursday’s opening round of the John Deere Classic and is tied for 11th place.
Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, shot a 1-under 34 on the front nine and a 4-under 32 on the back at TPC Deere Run in Sivlis, Illinois.
Steve Wheatcroft leads the field after a 9-under 62. Michael Kim is one shot back at 8-under 63.
North graduate finishes 71st in Girls Junior PGA
Danbi Kim carded a final-round 83 Thursday to finish 71st with a 305 in the Girls Junior PGA Championship.
Kim, a recent Columbus North graduate who is headed to Findlay (Ohio), shot rounds of 73, 71 and 78 the first three days at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky.
Yealimi Noh of Concord, California, set a tournament record in winning with a 24-under 264.
