A Columbus woman recently was installed in a leadership role with a Masonic-related organization at its worldwide meeting.
Jennie Lutes, a member of the Order of the Amaranth, attended the Assembly of the Supreme Council at the end of July in Tucson, Arizona, and was installed as Supreme Crown Bearer for a one-year term.
The longtime Amaranth member previously served as state presiding officer from June 2001 to June 2002.
The Order of the Amaranth’s primary philanthropic project since 1979 has been the eradication of diabetes, and it has raised more than $16 million for research.
At the assembly, a check for more than $400,000 was presented to the American Diabetes Association, and including matching funds more than $2 million was raised.
