Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies, assisted by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, arrested a local man on a warrant after he fled on foot from officers.
Deputies were attempting to serve a warrant on Joshua Irvin, 23, of 803 Reed St., Columbus, at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Cottage Avenue when Irvin fled into a residence, deputies said. The warrant service was to assist the Indiana State Police who were trying to locate Irvin.
Officers made entry into the home and arrested Irvin on preliminary charges of visiting a common nuisance and the warrant for theft of a firearm, deputies said.
Irvin was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $11,000 bond, jail officials said.
